Plastic surgery patients are often advised to look for “Board-certified”
surgeons. But what does “Board-certified,” and “Diplomate”
mean?
We have created a free report that explains these terms and other factors you should consider (it’s available by simply calling our office), but we will summarize board certification here for you.
It requires many years of specialized training to bring world-class medical care and top results to plastic and cosmetic surgery patients.
To become board-certified in plastic surgery, an accredited medical school graduate must have five more years as a resident surgeon, including a minimum of three years of general surgery and two years of a plastic surgery residency. Then, he or she must actually practice plastic surgery for another two years and complete some of the most rigorous, comprehensive written and oral examinations in medicine. A surgeon who has completed all those requirements is then known as a “Diplomate.”
The entire field of plastic surgery has grown so large that the unorthodox, the lightly schooled and the barely trained are offering many procedures that often sound great but turn out to be quick-fix or no-fix operations. Thus, at Eden we practice a field of medicine and surgery known as “evidence-based.” That means the procedure has been closely observed with many expert surgeons having studied the operation and agreeing it is a best practice, safe and provides excellent results for patients.

Our surgical center was intentionally designed to be warm and comforting, and we go the extra mile when it comes to your medical care. We are accredited by AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) and certified by Medicare. These third-party stamps of approval ensure that you will receive the highest possible quality of care.
