BOTOX®

Botox® is a purified muscle relaxant that was first used to treat eye muscle disorders. It is now the nation’s most popular noninvasive treatment, commonly used to reduce wrinkles on the face and elsewhere. By injecting small amounts of Botox®, the muscles relax, allowing deep facial folds to soften. Botox® is also commonly injected to diminish the vertical lines between the eyebrows and creases around the eyes as well as the horizontal forehead lines. Botox® requires only a short office visit; the effect is usually noticeable in a few days. The injections need to be repeated every two to six months to maintain the results. In some cases, with an increasing number of treatments, the effect will last longer because the muscles become retrained.

RESTYLANE

Restylane is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance known as hyaluronic acid. It is a dermal filler, which is especially helpful for reducing the appearance of the “nasolabial” fold that extend from your nose down to the corners of your mouth. We also use Restylane for lip augmentation, creating a plumper appearance. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces an enhancement which is gentle and safe to your skin. Restylane injections typically need to be repeated every 6 months or so to maintain optimum results.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

As an alternative to prolonged electrolysis treatments, laser hair removal can produce long-term hair reduction after only a few treatments. The lasers used for removing hair are gentle and precise, representing the latest technology. They are delicate enough for a woman's skin but strong enough for a man's beard or body hair. Unwanted hair is shaved and a numbing cream can be applied just prior to treatment. Results can be diminished if the hair is plucked or waxed before treatment. Since hair grows in three distinct phases, multiple laser treatments are needed to effectively remove the unwanted hair during each of these phases.

FOTOFACIAL SKIN REJUVENATION

This is a unique procedure that does not take off a layer of skin but promotes healthy-looking skin, including the reduction of redness and pore size while improving skin tone and texture. The procedure creates a gentle warming of the skin that most patients enjoy, and is truly a "no downtime" procedure that allows patients to return to their normal activities after leaving the doctor’s office.

FACIAL, LEG, AND "SPIDER" VEINS

Approximately 50 to 60 percent of men and women worldwide have unsightly veins. While sclerotherapy is an option for the removal of leg veins just under the skin, there are known side effects, and some veins will not respond. Our laser systems can provide a safe and effective method of treatment for a wide range of unsightly veins without any painful injections.

SUN DAMAGE AND AGE SPOTS

As many as 90 percent of patients 65 years or older have solar lentigos, according to the medical journal, Archives of Dermatology. However, especially in our sunny, California climate, age spots can begin to appear at any age. These sun spots or age spots, as they are commonly called, are caused by too much exposure to the sun. The CoolGlide Xeo laser has been optimized for treating solar lentigines and age spots, while also providing the best levels of patient comfort and results. No gel is used for treatment which further improves the patients’ comfort level.
